When I laid out more than 20 hard-earned lessons acquired over two decades in the fitness industry, I noted that many were related to mindset and perspective.
The lessons are critically important, but I prefer tactical advice most of the time, so I’ll supply that here.
If you review my lessons learned, you’ll note some themes:
- Communication
- Systemization and metrics
- Self-improvement
- Leadership
- Resilience and hope
- Focus
- Action
The last two are perhaps the most important—and they are linked.
Focus is nothing without action.
You can focus on your P&L for hours, go over every detail and make a plan to improve the numbers. But if you stop there, nothing changes.
You must act.
Conversely, wild action accomplishes little.
If you list 20 gym-growing tasks and try to work on all of them at once, you’ll take a long time to complete any one task because you’re distracted, unfocused and overwhelmed.
But what if you list your tasks in order of importance and start with the one that will bring the greatest result? If you focus on just that one task, you’ll finish it sooner and earn the reward. Then you move on to the next most important task.
This process seems obvious, but I have the same job as you, and I know you have a million things on your plate. It’s all too easy to move from task to task without making much headway.
To improve your gym, you must prioritize, focus and finish critical tasks.
Focus and Action
So let’s get tactical and put my lessons into practice.
To learn to focus and take action, you need an operating system.
That’s the Golden Hour: Every day, do one thing to grow your business before you do anything else.
I’ve committed to this plan personally, and it produced amazing results.
I’ve also led gym owners through Golden Hour Challenges, and they produced amazing results in businesses around the world.
To learn the concept and use it to improve your fitness business, you have two options:
1️⃣ Get “The Golden Hour” book here.
2️⃣ Visit goldenhourchallenge.com and use the Golden Hour Resource Hub to start taking action today.
Either path will produce results. You’ll learn how to focus, identify the most important tasks and get moving.
👉 Focus and take action right now: Get the book or get the resources through my challenge. Dig in and do the work every day.
If you follow the plan and build momentum, you’ll be shocked how quickly your business will change.
And if you want to move even faster, a mentor can guide you through the process. They’ll:
- Analyze your business.
- Tell you exactly what to do.
- Provide accountability so you do it.
