Daily Update

As a company grows, it can become harder for the CEO to understand the needs of clients. My mentor, Todd Herman, advises CEOs to “stay close to the pain,” and it’s one reason I still own a gym—and it’s why the mentors on our team of 40 still own gyms.

CrossFit’s new Affiliate Representatives program is a good start for gyms in the U.S. Business doesn’t grow through consensus but through leadership; but great businesses put their clients at the center of their plans. And affiliates are CrossFit’s customers.

Two-Brain Summit—Online and In Person

This year, Two-Brain Business will host regional events around the world instead of our massive annual Summit in Chicago. On Sept. 19 and 20, we’ll have 30 live events at host gyms of all methods and colors and brand.  Our online hosts—Risha Grant, Seth Godin, Chris Voss, Cameron Herold and me—will lead our discussions, and then we’ll break off for in-person work.

Not all these gym owners will run CrossFit facilities. But they’ll all care about changing our planet through coaching. And they’ll all be in the same room, working together to better their businesses and the fitness movement.

Daily Directive

Call three local gym owners.

Ask how they’re doing.

Get on a Zoom call or—if you can—plan to meet up for coffee.

Don’t wait for anyone to make these connections for you. It’s your gym. You need your own network.

You have everything to gain and nothing to lose.
