How I Build a Week of Gym Content With AI in 30 Minutes

I’ve been publishing content every single day for 20 years. I didn’t learn this from a marketing guru or an email copywriting course.

I learned it from Henry Rollins, the lead singer of Black Flag.

He used to handwrite a love letter to his fans every month, run it through a mimeograph machine and hand-address the envelopes himself. He didn’t have an email list or an algorithm, but he had something to say and people who wanted to hear it.

Tony Robbins started the same way: newsletters, printed and mailed.

When I was trying to get my first personal training clients, I’d write a blog post, print it out with my little Focus logo at the top and hand it to people at the gym. Completely manual, and it worked.

Publishing content matters more now than ever because people aren’t just Googling anymore. They’re going into ChatGPT or Claude and asking things like “should my kids lift weights?” or “what’s the best advice for a gym business?” An AI bot does the searching for them, and if you don’t have content out there, there’s nothing for it to find. You’ll be invisible.

Here’s the exact process I use at my own gym, Catalyst, to turn one idea into a full week of content in about 30 minutes

Start by Capturing, Not Creating

Set a standing appointment with yourself. Monday at 9 a.m., or whatever works. You’re going to record a short solo podcast (I call it a Quick Cast) every single week. Once that appointment is on the calendar, you’ll start noticing content ideas everywhere. A question a member asks after class. Something you overhear at the coffee shop.

I recently got an email from a parent whose 14-year-old daughter plays volleyball. She wanted to bring the whole team in to train, but she had a real question first: “Is strength training safe for adolescents? Should they go heavy?”

That email became my next episode. I didn’t have to brainstorm a topic. A real person in my community had a real question, and I had the answer.

The Process: Brain Dump, Then Let AI Do the Rest

Once you’ve got an idea, pull out your phone and hit record. Do a brain dump—everything you know about the topic, out loud with no script. My brain dump on the strength training question ran about six minutes. The voice recorder on a modern iPhone transcribes it automatically. That transcript is what you’ll use next.

Take the audio file and the transcript and drop them both into Claude (a free account works). If you’ve got a reference article or research you want to include, add that too. Then give it a prompt telling it what you need.

In a few minutes, Claude hands back a complete package. For me, that’s a podcast script, a full blog post, an email newsletter blurb, five Instagram carousel slides, a YouTube description and thumbnail, and a summary ready to paste into my podcast host. That’s easily three-plus hours of work.

Record your podcast audio, and from there, publishing is copy-paste. I use Captivate (about $9/month) as my podcast host. I paste the summary, upload the audio, hit “schedule” and I’m done. The blog post goes straight into WordPress with the featured image Claude already made.

Multiply Your Reach With Video

Record yourself reading the script on camera, then drop the video into Descript. It’s an editor that works off a transcript: delete a word, that section disappears from the video. It strips filler words automatically. What used to take hours of editing takes five minutes.

Upload the finished video to YouTube, then drop the same file into OpusClip. It automatically generates 20-plus short clips for YouTube Shorts, Instagram and Facebook.

My “What Is Fitness” episode got 33 views on YouTube, but a short from that same video pulled in over 700.

Get Your Time Back

None of these tools replace you. They just turn your ideas and your expertise into something clean and shareable.

The whole process takes me about 30 minutes for audio only, under an hour for video. It used to take me most of the day.

Now that time goes somewhere better. I can have real conversations. I can make more content like this for gym owners. I can coach.

If you want to use the exact prompt I use to generate all of these assets from a single brain dump, find me in Gym Owners United and send me a DM. Then just drop that prompt into Claude, and it’ll walk you through the setup.
