About

David Allen

After 11 years in business, David owns two gyms that serve 500-plus members and generate more than $1 million in revenue.

In 2018, David Allen wanted to escape his business and maybe even leave the fitness industry.

In 2022, he won Two-Brain’s Gym of the Year Award for top metrics. He now he runs two gyms that serve 500-plus members and generate more than $1 million in revenue. He also owns JDA Real Estate, a company that holds multiple commercial properties.

So what happened in 2018?

“I heard Chris Cooper speak at a strength conference. I realized, ‘I need help,’” David said. “My gym had outgrown my leadership and operational abilities. My gym was serving my clients and my staff, but it wasn’t serving me. I knew I needed help, and Two-Brain had the values that aligned with my mission.”

He continued: “Two-Brain showed me how I can be successful doing something I’m passionate about.”

With guidance from a mentor, David added extensive entrepreneurial knowledge to the skills he had acquired when completing an exercise-science degree and working as a D1 strength-and-conditioning coach. Revitalized as a gym owner, David joined the Two-Brain Tinker Program in 2020 to learn even more about business.

Now, as one of the world’s most successful gym owners, David wants to help others who might be as frustrated as he once was.

“I want to offer others the opportunity to get everything they want out of their businesses so they can impact more people,” he said. “I want fitness business owners see their personal and business potential and guide them down the path to achieving it.”

David has a love of systems and automations—which are the foundation of any strong business. He specializes in helping gym owners develop those systems so they can scale up and even open multiple locations if they want to.

David considers himself student of leadership and is always learning more about personal optimization. He lives in Memphis, Tennessee, and he enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. He’s always happy to play guitar or go hunting in his spare time.
