About

Ryan McStockard

Ryan reached $100,000 net owner benefit in just 18 months of Two-Brain mentorship and ascended to the Tinker level six months later. In his first three years of mentorship, he increased gross revenue by 76 percent.

Ryan McStockard quickly learned how to take swift action to improve a business.

A gym owner of 10 years, he reached $100,000 net owner benefit just 18 months after he started working with a Two-Brain mentor, and he ascended to the Tinker level six months later.

In his first three years of mentorship, he increased gross revenue by 76 percent.

Ryan’s also succeeded in building his business around long-term, professional staff members: Two coaches have worked for him for 10 years, one coach for eight years, and another for six years.

With a strong staff behind him, Ryan now focuses on managing money, marketing, developing his team and creating growth opportunities.

Ryan made these changes after pursuing the wrong path to success:

“My initial school of thought was ‘if I become the best coach in town, everyone will come and business success will just happen.’ We all know how that story ends.

“I got to the point of making a livable wage, but it was by me doing all the coaching. When I had my first child, I knew working 50-60 hours a week in my business wasn’t sustainable, and I needed my business to work for me and not the other way around.”

A Chris Cooper blog follower for years, Ryan took a big step after the pandemic gave him time to evaluate his business.

“I decided to rebrand my gym and told myself I needed a mentor to help with the rebrand—in reality, I needed a mentor for every other part of running my business. I needed help reducing overwhelm and taking clear, consistent action.

“I signed up for mentorship in February of 2021 and haven’t looked back since. It was easily the best business decision I have made for my business and my family—a decision that has changed my life trajectory for the better.”

Ryan’s going to pay it forward as a mentor by helping overwhelmed gym owners create businesses that work for them and support their families.

His specialty areas include finding work/life balance, building relationships, developing staff, improving client retention, rebranding, acquiring gyms and creating content.

Ryan holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa (recreation management and entrepreneurship) and is CrossFit Level 3 Certified. He’s a husband and works to be “an awesomely fun dad” to three amazing girls. Family time is top of his spare-time list, and he also love movies, personal development, fitness and traveling.

"My mission as a mentor is to help my mentees create a business that works for them—one that provides a sustainable living and provides them the ability to live their Perfect Day."
