Dani grew up in a suburb just south of Boston, Massachusetts. She was always thinking big as she contemplated becoming an anesthesiologist, actor or marine biologist— but never a business owner, and certainly not a business owner in the fitness industry.
Nonetheless, Dani had an unquenchable thirst for information on positive thinking, self-help and self-development, and by the age of 18 she had accumulated and devoured about 100 books on those subjects.
In 2002, Dani went to Northeastern University to major in nursing but soon became disappointed in the reactive side of medicine. Two years later, she moved to sunny San Diego. There, she developed a passion for the proactive side of health and took interest in subjects such as nutrition, fitness and yoga.
Six years later, after learning all she could, Dani decided to return home, where life took an unexpected turn. In 2010, her dad passed away in a tragic accident. Three months of deep depression were followed by a moment that changed everything: Dani realized she needed something to get her back on her feet. She Googled “CrossFit” and joined a nearby gym that week.
Fast-forward to September 2011, when Dani and now-husband Jason Brown opened CrossFit 781. Dani dove into learning anything and everything about business and found a new passion. Jason brought 15 years of experience in strength and conditioning, so it was a truly perfect complement.
In November 2016, they sold their gym, and today Dani uses her knowledge of self-improvement, self-development and the law of attraction to mentor clients. She truly believes that boundaries are self-imposed, and that education brings confidence, which in turn leads to self-efficacy.
