Growing up on Long Island, NY, I was always told that I was a calm, quiet leader. As a chosen captain on football and soccer teams into college, I was always a man of few words, leading by example.
I can’t remember a time that I wasn’t interested in learning more about health, fitness and the human body, which lead me to graduate from Logan Chiropractic College in 2003. I practiced as part of a group in Cleveland, Ohio from 2004-2007. In 2008 my wife and I both left 6 figure incomes to move South for better weather. With less than a year of planning, we moved to Charlotte, NC on a bit of a whim without knowing anyone, or having any jobs. After 2 years of having my chiropractic office inside a globo-gym, in 2009 I decided it was time to combined chiropractic and injury rehab/prevention with CrossFit.
In 2010 we opened CrossFit Steele Creek and Premier Health and Rehab Solutions (our doctor’s office); since rebranding our facility in 2017 to Live Active Charlotte.
I’ve been fortunate to have had successful coaches and business owners as mentors since high school, yet it wasn’t until 2010 when we opened our affiliate that I really started studying businesses and leadership. I’m an avid reader of at least a book a month, and with the exception of a few non-fiction crime books, mostly the topics are personal growth, psychology, and leadership.
I feel like I’ve been mentoring gyms for years in some shape or fashion for free. To say I was excited when asked to join this incredible team of people would be an understatement. “Help First” was what I was already doing, but never heard the phrase and now the path has come full circle. The best way for me to “thank” those that helped me in the past would be to do my best to help others create the lives they want for themselves and others.
