Jeff Larsh started his first business before he could even vote.
But entrepreneurship was no mere teenage phase for Jeff. Over the course of a decade, Jeff has opened one of the largest gyms in Canada, Tidal CrossFit, and overseen its successful expansion to four locations. At its peak, the brand employed just under 40 staff members.
Jeff founded his gyms with a singular mission: to provide the best hour of his clients’ days. But his personal mission soon grew even larger.
“I have always wanted to help people,” he said. “First it was through my gyms, where I fell in love with teaching CrossFit and fitness. But I also grew to really enjoy the business aspects of running a gym as well. After a while, I realized that I was more excited about talking about how to best serve our clients by being a great business then actually teaching squats.”
He sought mentorship with Two-Brain Business with the goal of one day becoming a mentor to other gym owners. Meanwhile, he passed the torch and sold ownership of Tidal CrossFit to a minority owner and former general manager, staying on in an advisory capacity.
Today, Jeff specializes in helping mentees build and manage large teams across multiple locations, whether just starting out, looking to scale current operations or already running multiple locations.
“My mission as a mentor is to inspire and challenge my clients to fulfill their true potential,” he said.
A former Ontario Hockey League athlete, Jeff studied kinesiology at Dalhousie University. He lives in Burlington, Ontario, with wife Amanda, daughter Cecilia and their dog, Benson.
“I believe that the success of what we do at Two-Brain is dependent on helping you find your own way by asking the right questions at the right time to inspire action. The rest is up to you.”
